Have you heard of outside.in?  They&#039;re working on the issues you described.  They aggregate RSS feeds from lots of blogs and organize them by location.  Drop your zip into their site and see what you get.  (btw, I don&#039;t work at outside.in)

If you do create a hyper-local blog for your community, please let me know.  I&#039;d be interested to see it!
